SUMMER at RIDEAU LAKES

" Summer...    Hair gets lighter, skin gets darker, water gets warmer,  drinks get colder,
music gets louder, nights get longer. Life gets better."

Rideau Lakes is home to Big Rideau Lake and several other lakes found along the Rideau Canal Waterway that connects the cities of Ottawa & Kingston. The name "rideau" is French for "curtain" and is derived from the curtain-like appearance of the twin waterfalls where the Rideau River joins the Ottawa River at Parliament Hill. It is the oldest continuously operated canal system in North America and is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Above & beyond the lakes along the Rideau Canal we have an additional 500km's of shoreline - making Rideau Lakes a Canadian cottage destination second to none.
